The Golden Event presented by the Future Teacher Club at Mark Bills Middle School was a remarkable success! Students celebrated black history by singing and participating in a Live Museum that featured prominent Black figures!



In March, we will spotlight special after-school activities at PPS! These programs give students exciting chances to learn and have fun outside of regular class time!

Trewyn K-8's "Taste of Soul" was a remarkable success! Students and staff prepared southern inspired dishes in celebration of Black History Month!




Illinois Central College at the Wrap Around Center was a remarkable success! The next opportunities to gather more information about the programs that ICC has to offer are Thursday, March 21st, and Monday, April 22nd from 1:30-3 pm!

Join us in welcoming Dr. Tristen Johnson to Peoria Public Schools as she presents her new book, "Black History Explorer: My Name Our Power!" to 3rd and 4th graders at Whittier and Dr. C.T. Vivian Primary Schools this Tuesday!

Jamieson School and the PAT Academy received a visit from the Farm Bureau with Ag In The Classroom and they brought a baby lamb!



The Peoria High School Black History Program was a remarkable success! With performances by the PHS dance team and drumline, speeches by Dr. Kherat and Dr. Chris Reynolds, and a giveaway of computers and a $500 scholarship by the Shaun and Reggie Livingston Foundation!
