Pacing Guides: Pacing guides show the percentage of the course your student should have completed by the end of each week. These guides will also be emailed at the beginning of each quarter. Students who fall behind the pace highlighted on these guides will be moved to in-person learning at their home school.
Yellow Highlight: Official Progress Checkpoint
The yellow weeks are the most critical for families to pay attention to. These are the official checkpoint weeks to ensure a student is on pace. As stated in the program agreements, any student who is not on pace by the end of a yellow-highlighted week will be moved back to their home school for in-person learning at the beginning of the following month.Red Text: End of Grading Period
The red highlights indicate the end of a bi-weekly grading period. For families, the red highlight simply means that after this date, you can expect to see updated bi-weekly grades appear in Skyward for the work your student completed during that cycle.
State and District Assessments (In-Person)
As part of our commitment to state and district academic standards, all students enrolled in the Learning Online Program are required to attend in-person testing sessions. Testing sessions will take place at the Administration Building located at 3202 N. Wisconsin Ave. This is a state and district requirement to ensure a secure and standardized testing environment for all students.
How Testing Works:
Scheduling: You will receive an email with a link to an online form. It is crucial that you use this link to sign up for a time slot to ensure we have adequate space and staffing.
Flexibility: We offer multiple dates and times (mornings and afternoons) to accommodate family schedules.
Required Assessments:
NWEA MAP Growth: Measures individual academic growth in reading and math throughout the year (Fall, Winter, and Spring).
Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR): The state's annual summative assessment for English Language Arts and Math (Spring).
Illinois Science Assessment (ISA): The state's annual science assessment for students in 5th and 8th grade (Spring).
