Boundary waivers allow a student residing anywhere within Peoria Public Schools boundaries to apply for attendance to most schools within the district. The online application will be open from December 1 , 2025, until February 1, 2026 at 7p.m. The application is only available electronically.  

Boundary waiver placement is a privilege. Applying for a boundary waiver does not guarantee approval.

• For new boundary waiver applicants, the final decisions will not be made until after the school year has started and will be based on attendance, discipline, and available space at the requested school.
  

• Students who have missed more than 6 days (excused or unexcused) of school and/or have more than 2 major referrals are automatically ineligible for a boundary waiver.
  

• Families will be notified over the summer if their child is not eligible for a boundary waiver due to attendance and/or discipline concerns.

  
  

• For students who are eligible, final boundary waiver decisions will be communicated at the end of August for a start following the Labor Day holiday.
  

• All boundary waivers are reviewed at the end of each semester and may be revoked due to attendance or discipline.
  

• If granted a boundary waiver, transportation is NOT provided.
  

• Siblings do not automatically receive a boundary waiver. All decisions are based on attendance, discipline and available space at the requested school.

• All students applying for a boundary waiver will begin the school year at their home school.
  

• There are no boundary waivers for Reservoir Gifted Academy or any high school.
  

• If your student is currently on a boundary waiver, they may continue until the highest grade level offered at that school.
