Course Planner

We are thrilled to announce the launch of SchooLinks Course Planner for our middle school and high school students. This powerful tool will revolutionize the way our students plan their courses and academic journeys.

With SchooLinks Course Planner, our students will have access to a comprehensive platform that empowers them to take charge of their education. They will be able to explore a wide range of courses, create personalized academic plans, and chart their path towards success. This will not only help them make informed decisions but also foster a sense of ownership and responsibility for their educational choices.

College Application Manager

SchooLinks College Application Manager simplifies the college application process by offering a comprehensive range of features, allowing students to effortlessly track and manage their applications, including transcripts, recommendation letters, and other documents required by each institution. While not an application portal, it seamlessly integrates with popular application methods like the Common App, providing students with a streamlined experience.

FAFSA

We want to ensure your student takes full advantage of financial aid for college. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the key form needed to determine eligibility for federal grants, loans, work-study programs, and often state and institutional aid.

FAFSA is a graduation requirement. Students need to complete the 2026-2027 FAFSA Application of Alternative Application.

Illinois requires all public high school seniors to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or, if applicable, the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid as a graduation requirement (Illinois School Code 105 ILCS 5/22-87, Sec. 22-87). The Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid allows qualifying undocumented students and some transgender students who are not eligible for federal financial aid to apply for state financial aid. Local school district staff must provide support and assistance to students and parents/guardians in the application process.

Alternatively, a parent/guardian must file a waiver if they choose to opt a child out of this graduation requirement by completing the Nonparticipation form; students who are least 18 years of age or legally emancipated may complete the form themselves.

This requirement ensures students have a chance to discover what resources are available to fund their next steps after high school. Completing the FAFSA or Alternative Application counts as an automatic application for a variety of financial aid resources, including Illinois’ Monetary Award Program (known as MAP), as well as private scholarships offered at many institutions. Financial aid obtained through the FAFSA can also pay for technical or vocational school.
