The Fleet Operations Unit maintains the 150 school buses of Peoria Public Schools. The goal of the unit is to provide safe, clean, dependable buses for the students of Peoria Public Schools. The new department head has set up an aggressive preventative maintenance schedule to extend the mechanical life of the buses, to provide cost efficient ways of ordering parts and tracking, as well as providing emergency response teams for accidents and mechanical failures.

What are UST Certified Operators?

Class A Operator is someone who has primary responsibility to operate and maintain a underground storage tank (UST) for fuel. The Class A Operator's responsibilities often include managing resources and personnel, such as establishing work assignments, to achieve and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

Class B Operator is someone who implements applicable UST regulatory requirements and standards in the field, including the day-to-day aspects of UST operation, maintenance and record keeping at one or more UST facilities.

Class C Operator is an employee who is responsible for responding to alarms or other indications of emergencies caused by spills or releases from UST's.
