Today four of our classrooms visited Peoria Zoo! We enjoyed learning about animals, playing on the playground, and eating lunch in the park. Thank you to all of the parents who helped chaperone our visit. We enjoyed having you along for the fun today!

Today when we arrived at school we had 5 more chicks who had hatched from their eggs! They have been moved from the incubator to join their 10 siblings who hatched yesterday.
Yesterday two of our teachers started to introduce some of our students to our new fluffy chicks. We can't wait to show them to more students soon.
Every Spring as an FFA (Future Farms of America club) activity, we incubate chicken eggs and hatch baby chicks here at school with eggs provided by the U of I 4-H Extension program here in Peoria. We began the incubation process 3 weeks ago and now the chicks are starting to hatch 🙂
