Save the Date!

We want to thank our staff members who are leaving us at the end of this school year. Thank you to Courtney, Olivia, Raffy, and Cai for all of your time and talent that you have given to our students and school. We will miss all of you next year, but we wish all of you the best as you embark on your new journeys.

Happy FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!
We hope that all of our families get to enjoy some fresh air, relaxation, and quality family time this summer.
To end our school year, some of our students who are attending different schools next year had a mock graduation from Jamieson. We will miss all of our students who are not returning next year. <3

As we are winding down in our school year, we wanted to post a reminder about the remaining days and times of our last 3 days of school.
Remember: Attendance matters. If your student won't be at school, please call the office to report them as absent or let them know ahead of time if your student has an appointment and won't be at school.

We had so much fun today at our annual field day!
Mr. Charles grilled our lunch and we got to enjoy bounce houses in the gym, bubbles, nail polish, and face painting outside.

Thank you for being heroes of communication! Your work makes a lasting difference and we are SO grateful for all that you do!

Congratulations to our 4th-6th grade life skills teacher, Brenda Poehls!
Brenda received a Remarkable Spirit Award at the board meeting on Monday, May 11th. When her co-workers and parents of her students were asked why she has a remarkable spirit, these are just a few of the reasons listed: Brenda radiates kindness, care and love. She is seen as a true model of what an educator of students with special needs should be. Her work in the classroom is truly inspiring.
We are happy, proud, and lucky to have Brenda as part of the Jamieson Eagles team and family!

Today our friends from Peoria Public Library, Beth and John, came to visit us. Mr. Brad and Mr. Cai have been visiting the library every month, but this time they came to visit us. Our students loved listening to them read summer stories. Beth and John also surprised with the gift of books for our classrooms and outside toys such as footballs and bubbles.
We had so much fun during our visit with Beth and John! We can't wait to see you at the library in the fall! 📖📚
Parents: Please check your student's bookbags. Each student is coming home with a pamphlet of FREE activities happening this summer at the library. There is something for children of all ages and even adults. https://peoriapubliclibrary.org/

Join us for lunch and AMAZING student performances at the Riverfront Museum’s Sun Plaza on May 14th! Food trucks will be on site, so bring your appetite, too! Let’s come together to support our talented young artists and show our appreciation for the arts in education!

Today our spotlight is on Ms. Debbie and her TA! Ms. Debbie is another one of our K-1st grade teachers.
Ms. Debbie's class is exploring this month’s STAR theme, “All About Bugs.” We enjoy reading stories that connect to the theme and spark curiosity.
Students are also working on the alphabet, beginning sounds, numbers, and number matching. While they focus on building their academic skills, they continue to enjoy their daily routines. Students are learning to play with friends, take turns, follow directions, and share with others.

Thank you to all our school nurses and clinic nurses who support our staff and students each and every day!

Happy Nurse Appreciation Day to our AMAZING and funny nurse, Nurse Lora!
Thank you for being kind and patient with all of our students, every single day. You are always there for us when we need a good laugh.

Today we spotlight our 4th-6th grade teacher, Ms. Brenda!
Ms. Brenda has a support staff with a T.A. and a B.A. and together they have seen their students learn and grow. Ms. Brenda’s class does a weekly science experiment. They have also spent the year learning how to do laundry and showing students how to take the lunch count to the cafeteria all by themselves. This year they have gone on many field trips such as Peoria Zoo, Camp Big Sky, Blue Ridge Farm, and a Peoria Chiefs game.
