Today our spotlight is on Ms. Debbie and her TA! Ms. Debbie is another one of our K-1st grade teachers.

Ms. Debbie's class is exploring this month’s STAR theme, “All About Bugs.” We enjoy reading stories that connect to the theme and spark curiosity.

Students are also working on the alphabet, beginning sounds, numbers, and number matching. While they focus on building their academic skills, they continue to enjoy their daily routines. Students are learning to play with friends, take turns, follow directions, and share with others.

Thank you Ms. Debbie for educating our children!

Today we spotlight our 4th-6th grade teacher, Ms. Brenda!

Ms. Brenda has a support staff with a T.A. and a B.A. and together they have seen their students learn and grow. Ms. Brenda’s class does a weekly science experiment. They have also spent the year learning how to do laundry and showing students how to take the lunch count to the cafeteria all by themselves. This year they have gone on many field trips such as Peoria Zoo, Camp Big Sky, Blue Ridge Farm, and a Peoria Chiefs game.

Thank you Camp Big Sky for hosting our 4th-12th graders on a field trip on Friday!

Our students enjoyed fishing, a hay ride, a boat ride, arts and crafts, playing on the inclusive playground, and eating lunch outside. We learned about wetlands and got to watch turtles and geese swim. We also had some surprise cows greet us on our hayride!

We can't wait to visit again next year. :)

Today in honor of Staff Appreciation Week we want to shine our spotlight on Ms. Emily who teaches one of our kindergarten to 1st grade classrooms.

Ms. Emily along with her T.A., Ms. Maria have been busy this year. Throughout the year, Miss Emily's class has focused on building communication skills and independence. Through play and structured learning time, students have developed skills in turn taking, requesting, and being ready to learn. To celebrate the year and take the skills out into the community, they attended Access the Zoo day at Peoria Zoo.

Thank you for always being there for our students!
