
4th graders completed their first science lab by creating a model car, that we are going to use to learn about force. They are going to build and test different propulsion methods and then they will build a way to protect an egg that will ride in the car. The final test will be a collision test with a real egg in the car.


School is NOT in session today Sept. 2, 2024!


Sixth grade students in Mrs. Goldrings’ classes worked cooperatively in a STEM activity called “Can You Save Fred?". This activity helped encourage teamwork, resilience , and problem solving to help Fred the worm get back into his boat after it capsizes and he can't reach his life preserver.











This week we are highlighting our very own 8th grade ELA teacher Mrs. Buneta. She has been at LK8 for 7 years and truly loves it.


Mrs. Wilkinsons practiced the steps of the scientific method by designing paper airplanes and seeing what wing design flew the farthest.






Our annual AVID induction night was filled with WICOR strategies and our middle school avid elective students were inducted. #ThisisAVID #AVIDimpact











Student council representatives took the day today to practice handing out fidgets and supplies to those students who earned dojo points! Students earn dojo points on Classdojo for good behavior, conduct, and respect. Way to go #Mustangs and way to go Student Council!






Chess Club has started! Mr. Kates and Mr. Illuzzi always bring the kings and queens after school!






Our SWS students had so much fun with their drums!! It was an fantastic time! :)

Our PTO Community Event was a roaring success. Over 50 families came and learned about community organizations helping our school and gave their input.

Our first #FIRSTLegoLeagueChallenge meeting was held after school on Thursday. All these boys are SO excited.
