
Woodruff students come over from the barbering class to practice their skills and create a mentorship with our K-8 students.


This week we are highlighting Ms. Robbins. She is one of our sensational 6th-grade teachers.


Thursday, Sept 26, Peoria Fired Department came to LK8 to educate K-2 students about fire prevention and safety. Students practiced in a safe house, observed a firefighter in full gear, and sat up in the fire truck.









4th graders did a living museum in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.











First graders get what they need during guided individual practice time from phonics to fluency to writing and more!

Fifth graders learn about states of matter by trying to guess the mystery substance after watching how it changes when heat is applied.





K-4 grade students attended the NED show. This assembly focused of having a growth mindset and being resilient. N stands for Never Give Up, E stands for Encourage Others, and D stands for Do Your Best

Boys Baseball has two games this week. Hult Presentations continue this week at Lincoln. Fall Break is on the horizon, that means that Quarter 1 ends on Friday.



During a staff meeting, teachers participated in an AVID strategy called the carousel. They taught each other strategies that will help achieve our school improvement plan.











7th graders give thoughtful written responses during 7 Mindsets Journaling time.




Picture day is this Thursday. Students can come out of uniform if they have bought pictures or have money for pictures.


8th grade AVID elective students participated in their first tutorial. Tutorials are a cornerstone of the avid elective. They fill out of TRF to identify their point of confusion. Students work collaboratively in tutorials by asking questions and working through the problem together in small groups. #ThisisAVID

6th grade AVID elective students in sixth grade practiced their note taking skills by taking notes over how to make ice cream in a bag. 7th grade AVID elective students tested their note taking skills by making the ice cream exactly the way their notes said!
