Homecoming Week is here at Peoria High! 🎉 This year’s theme is “Midnight in the Enchanted Garden: A Night of Twinkling Lights and Royal Delights.” Spirit Days, the Pep Assembly, and Friday night’s Homecoming Game vs. Normal West (7 pm) will show we are the PRIDE of the CITY.

As we celebrate, we’re reminding students to Take a Stand: be on time, encourage classmates, and make positive choices. Eligibility for Homecoming events depends on Behavior, Attendance, and Grades poor behavior, unexcused absences, or failing classes will result in loss of eligibility.

Let’s finish Quarter 1 strong (ends FRIDAY GET ON THEM GRADES!) and represent the Pride of the City 🦁

Homecoming is 1 week away and so is the end of Quarter 1. These next two weeks matter. Spirit Week, the big game, and the dance are all fun, but grades close September 26.

Parents — check Skyward this week. If your student has a D or F, encourage them to meet with their teacher and make a plan. Let’s finish the quarter strong.

✅ Attendance goal is 95% (we’re at 89%)
🎉 Eligibility for Homecoming will be posted tomorrow
📞 Call in absences to 309-672-6630 ext. 40096 or email ANGELA.SIERRA@PSD150.ORG
🩺 Freshmen physicals and senior immunizations are due Oct. 15

Flag Football

This week is about being Lion Strong. Not just on the field but in the classroom and in life. Our 7 Mindsets focus is Focus on Your Strengths — helping students use what they do best to push through challenges.

Our athletes showed it last week with Freshman and Varsity Football wins and Flag Football going 2–0. The same mindset works in class: focus on strengths, raise grades, and stay on track.

📞 Attendance: We are at 89% (down 1%) and chronic absenteeism is up. Every day matters. Call in absences to avoid unexcused marks.
Eligibility: Run again for Homecoming on Sept. 15. Ds, Fs, unexcused absences, and behavior all impact eligibility.
🎉 Homecoming Guest Forms: Available with Mr. Laird or in the front office.
📱 Phones: All phones must be in Yondr pouches or secured at arrival. Hidden or seen phones = parent pick up. Headphones and iPads must stay in bookbags.
🩺 Health: Freshman physicals and senior immunizations are due by Oct. 15.

Let’s keep stacking positive days together. Show Up. Own Everything. Hunt Excellence.

Lion Strong

This week is a big one at Peoria High! Progress Reports go home Wednesday and it is the perfect checkpoint for students to Act and Adjust. Our PRIDE Team flipped every negative into a positive to design a spirit week because PRIDE beats Negativity.

Friday night is our first home football game after a 42 to 0 road win at Centennial. Let’s pack Peoria Stadium in maroon and black and celebrate our school, our students, and our community standing together.

✅ Attendance is climbing. We’ve hit 90 percent school-wide. Every day in class matters.
📱 Phones must be in pouches or secured at arrival. Headphones and iPads stay in bookbags.
👥 Fighting and major disruptions will be taken seriously. Students need to go to an adult if there is an issue.
