Black History Month Celebrated Through Art
Northmoor students have been studying a variety of black history artists in the art classroom this month and Mrs. Lindahl displayed many artists with a sample of their artwork in the hallway. Students have learned about Alma Thomas, Jean-Michel Basquiat and will be wrapping up the month with local artist Preston Eugene Jackson. In week one, they learned about artist Sam Gilliam. He was an abstract artist who made many drape paintings using large canvases. Students had a chance in all grade levels to create their own inspired piece by painting on an unstretched canvas. The students' artwork was then put on display for all to enjoy.

Hi Northmoor Families,
We’re looking for local business sponsors to support our spring production of Annie Jr! Can you help spread the word to some of your favorite local businesses? (We would also welcome Northmoor family businesses as well!) Sponsorship funds will help with stage production, costumes, etc! (Every little bit helps.)

Due to forecasted wind chill values of –17 and ongoing concerns for student safety—particularly for those who walk to school and must navigate sidewalks in many areas—there will be no school tomorrow, Monday, January 26th.
Although temperatures have slightly improved, conditions remain unsafe, and we anticipate significantly low student attendance. Out of an abundance of caution, and to ensure equitable and safe access for all students, we have made the decision to cancel school for the day.
Please note: This day will be made up at a later date. Additional information regarding the makeup day will be shared once it is confirmed. In addition, the School Board Meeting will proceed as scheduled.
Thank you for your flexibility and your continued commitment to student safety. Stay warm and safe!
