What You Need to Know Before School Starts
Per Peoria Public Schools’ safety plan
· All bags will be searched upon arrival
· Students are encouraged to bring clear backpacks to expedite the arrival process
· Clear backpacks will be required on and after October 15
o Clear backpacks can be purchased for $20 from the school Treasurer

· Cell phones are not allowed in school
o Cell phones will be placed and locked in Yondr pouches upon school arrival
o Students will keep Yondr pouches on their person all day
o Yondr pouches will be unlocked upon school departure
Incoming Freshmen will benefit greatly by attending our Freshmen Orientation, Thursday, July 24th from 9:00 to 11:00am. Orientation is designed to ease the transition into a new school by allowing students to explore the building, be introduced to staff who will support their new journey and meet/greet classmates.
Freshmen students will also:
· Be officially welcomed to high school
· Receive their class schedules
· Tour the building/find their classrooms
· Take ID picture
· Find and practice opening their locker
· Learn about school sports & clubs
· Turn in required medical documentation
· Pay fees, if necessary
All students will also benefit from attending our Smart Start activities, Thursday, July 24th from 11:30 to 1:30pm.
Returning/new students will:
· Receive class schedule, correct errors, if necessary
· Tour the building/find their classrooms
· Turn in required medical documentation
· Get/locate locker assignment
· Take ID picture
· Pay fees, if necessary
