December Newsletter

Boundary Waiver Information

Good evening, Kellar Families!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break! We are so grateful for our caring and supportive Kellar community. This month, we enjoyed an amazing Grandparents Week, collected non-perishable food items for Sophia’s Kitchen, and continue to gather cozy PJs for our 72 Acts of Kindness challenge.

I’m also excited to share that our attendance has held steady at 95%, and our Chronic Absenteeism rate continues to improve, with recent weeks at 9% and 10%. With just three short weeks left in December before Winter Break, I’m hopeful we can keep this positive trend going and finish 2025 strong with continued growth and improvement.

As many of you know, December can be a challenging month for behavior. To support positive choices, we will once again be using our Giving Tree. Students who show that they are respectful, responsible, engaged, and safe may be randomly selected to choose a special gift to take home.

A reminder that the Boundary Waiver window opens December 1st. Please note that the criteria for waivers is changing, and waivers are reviewed mid-year. They may be revoked for concerns related to attendance and/or discipline. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. We appreciate you!

PTO Updates:

Monday, 12/8 - December Stock the Lounge is 2nd grade. Please keep an eye out for the sign up genius!

Everyone have a great week and SHINE YOUR KELLAR PRIDE!!!
