Attendance & Guest Reader Week
We had a great week at Kellar with attendance and honoring our annual Guest Reader program. Thank you to Lori Williams for all of her hard work and effort in coordinating the special community members for this reading event. Our attendance was spectacular with 96%, and we had two weekly attendance challenge winners. Congratulations to Mrs. Mullens and Mrs. Todd's classes who had 100% attendance for the week! Please, always remember, attendance matters!
Caterpillar Foundation Matching Gifts Program
The Caterpillar Foundation has announced a limited-time 10:1 match through the Caterpillar Foundation Matching Gifts Program. This special match is for current global employee gifts paid directly to eligible organizations and submitted for a match from April 21st – May 2nd (or once the 10:1 match total reaches $10 million USD). Kellar PTO is eligible for this program under Charity Tax ID: 03269.
2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration
Thank you to our kindergarten teachers that spent a very beautiful day on Saturday at the Peoria Zoo for Kindergarten Round Up. It was great seeing some of our current families as well as meeting our new ones. Registration at Kellar will take place on May 1st from 4:30pm - 5:30pm. This is for families returning with new kindergartners and new families joining our school community. Our new families may not be on the mailing list, so please, spread the word! Click here to view and/or print the flyer.
Summer Intercession
Summer Intercession will take place from June 2nd - 18th. We are partnering with community partners, transportation and meals will be provided. Students need to be registered by April 30th. Click here for more information.
Progress Reports
Grading for quarter 4 progress reports ends on Friday. They will be sent home on Wednesday, April 30th.
Bus Quest App
If your student rides the bus, for student information, alert notification, and student tracking, check out the Bus Quest Transportation Information App.
The Golden Rule: Treat Others as You Would Like to Be Treated
Please encourage your student(s) to make appropriate choices at school and on the bus by reviewing our school wide expectations together. By signing their student handbook at the beginning of the year, they agreed to follow these expectations. Please make clear to them that you always have the same expectations for them when they are attending school.
Playground Expectations
It is extremely important that every student at Kellar follows our school's playground expectations during school time to keep everyone safe. Please review and discuss these with your student(s).
Morning Drop Off & Afternoon Pick-up
1. It is very important that all families follow the established Drop Off & Pick-Up Procedures. Please do not park on the side of the road on Mt. Hawley when dropping off your student. There have been numerous concerns and is a safety issue.
2. Building Access Policy: Please drop your student off at the door and hallway supervisors can assist them to class if needed. Otherwise, parents will need to sign in at the office before entering the building.
3. Fire Lane /Bus Lane Parking: During AM/PM Arrival and Dismissal, please park either on the back blacktop or in a designated parking spot. The Fire Lane and the Bus Lane in front of the school must remain clear. This is to ensure safety for all of our students.
4. If you need to cross the street, please use the designated crosswalk and avoid parking on the sides of the street on Mt. Hawley.
5. After School Pick-Up: To keep dismissal orderly at the end of the day, when picking students up from the cafeteria, exit 2, by the garbage bin, and exit 3, around the back corner, are for exiting only. To enter the school building to pick your student(s) up from the cafeteria, please only come through exit 4 located on the right after you completely walk pass the newer playground equipment. Please share this with anyone who may be coming to pick your student(s) up after school.
6. If you are going to let your student(s) play on the playground after school or are staying after for some other reason, please move your car to an open spot outside of the fence immediately so the gate can be closed.
Thank you for all you do, no one plays a more important role in the educational success of a student than their family!
Don't forget to shine your Kellar pride!
