This is your proud new principal Mrs. Mary Newman-Evans. It is my pleasure and honor to join the Harold B. Dawson Family. I am excited about the coming year and am thinking of you today as I work on finalizing things in the office for our first day of school on Wednesday, July 30.
I hope that you and your scholar will be able to join us in the building for an Unpack Your Backpack Event on Tuesday, July 29 from 1:00-2:30PM. I look forward to meeting you and learning about your vision for your scholar's 25-26 School Year.

If you're starting your back to school shopping soon, please be aware of our school's dress code, which aligns with Peoria Public Schools District 150's uniform policy.
Students are expected to be in uniform all day, every day. If students require a change of clothes, parents may be called to bring them to school.
If you're having trouble purchasing uniforms, please contact the office at (309) 672-6506.

🏁 We are in the home stretch! To get us through this last week of school, we will be having a free dress spirit week:
--Monday: No school for Memorial Day
--Tuesday: Dress for Success – dress for your future career
--Wednesday: Teacher/Student Swap – dress like a staff member
--Thursday: Senior Citizen Day – dress like you’re in your golden years
--Friday: Color Wars – 5th grade blue; 6th grade red; 7th grade black
🎓 Tuesday, May 27th at 5:00 p.m. will be the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony. The 8th graders received a set number of tickets for their family members. Guests must have a ticket to attend. The ceremony will also be live streamed on MS Teams (bit.ly/25HBDpromotion) We will be offering free digital images this year. 👟 The City Track Meet has been rescheduled to Thursday, May 29th at 4:00 p.m. at Peoria Stadium. Students must bring a change of clothes so they can return their uniforms to Coach Dominguez after the meet.
🌞 Friday, May 30th is our last day of school with our awards ceremony in the morning and a 10:30 a.m. dismissal.
📓 Yearbooks are available for $5 – cash only. We do not accept CashApp, Venmo, etc.
