💯 Attendance Challenge: Students who are in school every day, earn a jibbitz each week. They’ve been enjoying showing off their bracelets as they fill them up!
👟 There is a track meet on Monday, May 12th and Tuesday, May 13th at 4:00 p.m. at Peoria Stadium.
🗣 We have our final PTO meeting on the school year on Tuesday, May 13th at 6:00 p.m. Join us in the library or online (bit.ly/HBDPTO2425) on to earn your child a free dress pass.
📣 8th graders only: Looking ahead to next week, 8th graders will have a free dress/spirit week:
--Monday 5/19: Class Color Day (chosen in advance by each homeroom); the class with the highest participation will earn a delicious treat!
--Tuesday 5/20: Character Day; dress like your favorite characters from a movie, book, cartoon, etc.
--Wednesday 5/21: Career Day; dress as you will in your future careers
--Thursday 5/22: Throwback Day; either dress from a specific decade or as you did during your younger years (such as pigtails, jelly sandals, tutus, etc.)
--Friday, 5/23: Rehearsal & Celebration; wear your 8th grade class t-shirts (if you ordered) along with “Class of ‘25” headbands, buttons, etc.
🎓 Tuesday, May 27th at 5:00 p.m. will be the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony. The 8th graders will receive a set number of tickets for their family members. Guests must have a ticket to attend. The ceremony will also be live streamed on MS Teams (bit.ly/25HBDpromotion) We will be offering free digital images this year. 💻 NWEA Spring Testing continues this week for some students. We’re almost done!
⏰ Wednesday, May 7th is an early dismissal day at 10:30 a.m. Students must have rides arranged, as staff have meetings immediately following dismissal.
👕 8th graders: Your t-shirt money is due by the morning of Friday, May 9th. No late orders will be accepted. The cost is $10 per shirt.

Our students with three weeks of 100% attendance will earn their reward this week! 💻 NWEA Spring Testing begins this week for 5th-7th graders. We understand the students have been testing a lot recently; however, it is important for them to continue to take these tests seriously. Getting a good night’s sleep, eating breakfast, and arriving to school on time each day will help them be successful! 🧠 7th graders will be going to the Hult Center on Monday, April 28th. 🌞 Tuesday, April 29th is the district’s Parent University from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Woodruff. ⚽️ Attention soccer players, regarding games tomorrow morning (4/26):
Girls play at 9 am; arrive by 8:30 on field 1.
Boys play at 11 am; arrive by 10:30 on field 1.
Also a heads up for Monday 4/28: Boys have a makeup game at 3:45 pm vs. Mark Bills.
