Our Mission

The Trewyn Therapeutic Program Mission

Our staff members believe that self-discipline leads to successful academic growth and desirable social skills.  In order for our students to strive towards these traits, it is important for discipline to be a cooperative venture between teachers, student, and parents/guardians. Through that cooperative effort, we can ensure a learning environment that promotes the best possible care, welfare, safety, and security, in which all students are engaged in the learning tasks.  As part of the cooperative effort, we as a school have established the following goals:

  • Successfully transition students back to their home schools.

  • Create a school climate that is caring and supportive, where students feel safe and respected.

  • Use of data to improve instruction and behavior.

  • Work collaboratively with all faculty members to improve student success and improve school climate.

  • Provide a positive, structure, yet individualized behavior management program.

  • Help facilitate progress and promote positive growth.

  • Communicate with parents and guardians to create lasting positive relationships.

  • To implement strategies & modifications to help students make positive behavior choices.

  • Teach our students the skills necessary to be successful in their school, career, and, community.

  • Teach skills to self-advocate and locate resources to solve problems independently.

  • Guide students to cultivate awareness of personal interests & worth so they can manage their futures.
