Get Involved!

teacher

From classroom helpers to standard school supplies, and from classroom furniture to technology, our school invites the community to see our needs and consider ways you might be able to contribute to the remarkable success of our students, staff and school!

We have divided our needs into categories to allow you to easily find a way that YOU can help! We have volunteer opportunities, small classroom items, large school projects and technology needs.

Volunteer Opportunities

We often need just a few extra people to help in various capacities throughout our school. Our school volunteer base is often used to help read with students, grade homework and monitor our lunchrooms. Our current needs are listed below.

Small Classroom Items

Our donation list begins with the small, but important items that help us learn on a daily basis and range from pencils, pens and paper to gift certificates and other items we can use to acknowledge the remarkable work of our students. If you find an item on this list you would like to donate as your gift to our school, please email our school principal or call our school office at (309) 672 - 6630

  • Beginning in 2008, a grant through the National Endowment of the Arts assisted Peoria Public Library and the Common Place host the annual Peoria Reads! program. Over the last three years, many of our District's middle and high school students and their parents/families were able to participate in this unique community reading program. The 2011 program will soon be underway, but grant funding purchase books is not available. This year, the book titles being used for Peoria Reads! include "We Beat the Street" for middle school students and "The Other Wes Moore" for high school students and adults.

Our school is currently accepting donations of
"The Other Wes Moore," by Wes Moore. Both individual books and classroom collections are needed so that interested students and classrooms can participate in this exciting opportunity.

Large School Projects

While they may be confined to one classroom, or the whole school may be involved, we also have larger projects we often do not have the funding to complete. Many times, our Parent Teacher Organization/Committee is able to help with these projects, but they must also work by priority and often times cannot complete these projects for some time. We would welcome your participation and/or contributions to our larger school projects. Perhaps you also have your own idea that you would like to support. Contact the Peoria Public Schools District 150 Foundation for more information or to submit a pledge of support.

Technology Needs

Community help with school technology needs is organized through the Peoria Public Schools District 150 Foundation. This process allows us to keep clear and focused goals when it comes to technology and still be aligned with our technology policies and systems. Our school submits our technology needs to the PPS Foundation. Please visit their website and contact the Foundation at (309) 672-6738 or foundation@psd150.org to find out more about making a technology donation.
