Richwoods Tennis Needs your Help

On Tuesday, August 13, 2019 there was an article on the front page of the sports section entitled “Knights without home field this season”.  While the football team will miss having a home field this one year, I immediately thought about how many years have gone by since our varsity men’s and women’s tennis teams have had safe, crack and crevice free tennis courts.  Please see page 2 for pictures of the present state of our courts. I really believe that Richwoods High School and the community deserve access to 6 quality tennis courts at this site.

We have a proposal from an excellent company out of St. Louis to repair the cracks and replace the broken net post so that we would have the use of 6 courts again.  Even though we have reason to believe that District 150 is looking at a more comprehensive court repair or replacement in a couple of years or so, this smaller project would make the courts safe and playable again. Our goal is to raise $18,000 in the next couple of months so that we can get the project done in the early spring of 2020.

All donations are tax-deductible.

A $5,000 donation would be acknowledged on new signage at the site.

Donations of $5,000 and more would also receive special recognition from District 150 School Board.

$1,000 Donation – Name or company name listed on the facility sign.

We would appreciate donations of any amount and you will also receive a receipt as well as a letter acknowledging the donation from Richwoods High School.

All donations can be mailed to Patti Shaw at Richwoods High School, 6301 N. University St., Peoria, IL 61614.  Checks should be made out to Richwoods Tennis / Court Improvement so that funds will go into the designated account.

THANK YOU! and please share this appeal with any other people who may be interested in helping us.  GO KNIGHTS!
