Students Have a Penny War to Raise Money for Easter Seals

The week of February 25th was Disabilities Awareness Week and the Coins for Kids Penny War at Kellar Primary School to support Easter Seals.  Staff and students learned about people with disabilities and how we can help one another.  Every year money is raised through the Coins for Kids Penny War to help fund hours of therapy for children.  Students from each grade level donate pennies to see who can raise the most money but there’s a catch.  Students can put silver and/or paper money into the container of another grade level to deduct from the amount of pennies given by those students.   The winning grade level for the 2019 fundraiser was kindergarten.  At the end of the week the Kellar community raised $1,148.88 to help with therapy sessions at Easter Seals!
