Peoria Public Schools serves over 55K meals since March 17

Peoria Public Schools will continue to distribute meals to students and families on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays while buildings are closed.

As of Wednesday, April 1, the District had distributed over 55,000 meals since the beginning of statewide mandated school closure.

In partnership with Sodexo Food Services, the Salvation Army, the Peoria Regional Office of Education and numerous PPS and community volunteers, Peoria Public Schools established 19 food distribution sites at its school buildings across the city and also provided meal delivery to several concentrated neighoborhoods. To help families reduce the amount of trips, food distribution will take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Families will receive two days worth of food on those days.
