Peoria Public Schools Board Member Dr. Bob Davison-Aviles Submits Resignation

Peoria Public Schools is accepting resumes for an open District 2 seat on the Board of Education following the resignation of Board Member Dr. Bob Davison-Aviles, who resigned at the July 15, 2019, board meeting after serving three years on the Board.

 

To be considered, those interested in filling the vacancy through June 30, 2021, should submit a resume and letter of interest to Board of Education Secretary Daphne Williams via email (daphne.williams@psd150.org) or at the District’s Administrative Office (3202 N Wisconsin Ave.) by 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019.

 

Potential candidates are required to be a U.S. Citizen, 18 years of age or older, a registered voter, not a school district trustee or treasurer, not a registered child sex offender and live within the Peoria Public Schools boundaries, specifically in District 2, which is the central region of the school district. Illinois School Code allows the Board of Education to fill the vacancy within 45 days of the resignation. The appointed Board Member will fill the vacancy until the next regular election for this seat in Spring 2021.

 

The Peoria Public Schools Board of Education hopes to make an appointment and seat the new Board Member on or before the Aug. 26, 2019 Board of Education meeting
