Peoria Schoolhouse Open tees off January 26 at Kelleher's

Head to Kelleher's, Saturday, January 26 for the Peoria Public Schools Foundation second annual Schoolhouse Open Mini-golf Pub Crawl  Saturday, January 26 at Kelleher's. Sign-in and registration begins at 10 a.m. and golfers tee-off at 11 a.m. Thirty-three teams are registered for the event. 


The first Schoolhouse Open raised $2,500 for Peoria Public School middle school athletics.


"We are so lucky to have an energized and philanthropic downtown business community to support this effort," says Dan Adler, Peoria Public Schools Board of Education president and event organizer. "The success of last year's event is allowing us to grow in terms of participants and sponsors."


All proceeds this year will support middle school athletic programs. 

Tickets include entrance into the Schoolhouse Open, two beverage tokens and a Schoolhouse Open t-shirt. A portion of the ticket price can be claimed as a tax-deductible donation.

Registration before December 21 costs $140/team of four or $35 per person. Prices will rise to $160/team and $40 per person after that date. 


Sponsors include Kelleher's, which will also serve as the event's official clubhouse. Other confirmed businesses/organizations include:

Last year, students at Manual Academy, Woodruff Career and Technical Center (WCTC) and parent volunteers designed and built the golf holes for the event. This year WCTC is repainting and repairing holes as needed and Manual Academy students are designing new holes.


The Peoria Public Schools Foundation and a group of Peoria Public School parents organizes the Schoolhouse Open with support from community organizations including Peoria Rotary North and the Junior League of Peoria.
