Located inside Trewyn School, the Wraparound Center is a one-stop-shop for students and families to receive therapeutic supports and access services and resources from community agencies. It is open to all Peoria families, regardless of whether they have students attending Peoria Public Schools. The Wraparound Center is particularly focused on serving residents in the 61605 zip code.

The Wraparound Center falls under the direction of Peoria Public Schools Office of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). SEL is the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy to others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

Educators do more than teach subjects; they teach and prepare the whole child. SEL is critical to preparing the student to participate in the learning experience and increasing their capacity to learn. The Wraparound Center will connect families to services that will help them meet their basic needs - from food pantry and clothing assistance, to therapeutic services, affordable housing advice, and more.

SEL Competencies: self-awareness, social awareness, decision-making, self-management, relationship skills
