Special Education

I have spent 32 years teaching high school science and just recently earned my special education endorsement.

I started in the district at Manual High School in 2000.  I was part of the ITA where I taught Physics and Physical Science.  After the ITA closed, I moved to the regular division, teaching Biology, Physics, Earth Science and Horticulture.  I helped write the grant that started the Horticulture program at Manual. These funds helped with the purchase of supplies as well as the refurbishing of the greenhouse in 2000. I also coached volleyball, softball, drama club (co-directed Arsneic and Old Lace), Scholastic bowl and FIRST Robotics.

In 2009, I moved to Richwoods High School where I taught a variety of courses, including Biology, AP Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, Physical Science, Horticulture and Earth Science. While at Richwoods, I coached softball both as the Freshman coach and then took over the Head coaching position in 2016.

One of the best things I have done over the 22 years in PSD150 is to add beauty to Manual and Richwoods with my horticulture classes as well as many hours of my own time.

Here is a link if you want to see the beauty I have helped create! The unfortunate reality is that many of the things which I helped create have not been maintained and are now gone.

I also earned my Driver's Education Endorsement and worked teaching both classroom part of the course at QUEST and the behind the wheel part of the course at Richwoods and Quest.

I moved to KCSS in January of 2022 to begin my second career in special education.  I find the ability to help students one on one throughout the day is very rewarding for me.

You are amazing gif
