Dr. Tariq Muhammad, MD
Dr. Muhammad was born in Washington, DC, to his parents, an engineer and a nurse. He is the third oldest of seven children. Dr. Muhammad went to Woodruff High School from 2004-2008, where he was a 3-sport varsity athlete (wrestling, baseball, football). His name is listed on the wall in the Commons at Woodruff.
He received a full scholarship to wrestle at Lincoln College. He spent one semester before transferring to Illinois Central College, where he studied Psychology, then went to Bradley University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
Dr. Muhammad matriculated into medical school in Chicago in 2014 and graduated in 2018 with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He earned a residency in anesthesiology and completed his internship year in surgery for one year. He then took a sabbatical from his residency program in January 2020. He began teaching Advanced Physiology/Science in Chicago Public schools before coming to district 150 in August 2020!
