    Welcome!

I a thrilled to be teaching your students about art this year.

Students will be immersed in age appropriate art, including elements of art, the color wheel with various color combinations, and the difference between two-dimensional and three-dimensional art.  By introducing a few of the greatest artists and their works like Van Gogh, Picasso, Cezanne, Matisse, Renoir, as well as famous female artists like Georgia O'Keefe, and African American artists such as Faith Ringgold, I hope to inspire your students.  Our medium tools and materials for art projects will include paints, markers, colored pencils, and chalk.  We will also connect pieces of literature that emphasize art designs.

Eveyone is able to develop creativity, and I will strive to enhance individual artistic ability along with group interaction skills.  Observational and visual knowledge will align with creativity.  Studies show that using creative parts of your mind can boost happiness and well-being and is necessary for 21st century success.  It is an important element of the complexity of problem solving along with critical thinking.

My goal is to inspire and to instill artistic enthusiasm in your students while allowing them to explore and create their artisitc materpieces in a fun, comfortable, non-judgemental learning environment.  Perhaps your student will not become an inspiring artist, but your child will certainly learn more about art and enjoy the process of creating!
