• Hello, I am Keo Thompson. I teach kindergarten at Thomas Jefferson. This is my second year teaching in District 150. I have taught for 23 years, mostly in parachial schools. I love teaching and working with my little ones to learn and flurish. I grew up in Macomb, Illinois. My dad was a professor at WIU and my mom was an OB nurse at McDonough District Hospital. I remember always wanting to be a teacher. One class into my teacher education program, I moved to mass commmunication. The professor I had told me I would not be a good teacher, so I moved to the next thing I was good at - journalism. I got my Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from WIU in 1987. In 1992 I decided to go back to school to get my Teacher Certification. I had been a substitute teacher in Distgrict 150 and knew I could teach. I got my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Bradley University in 1995. I have loved every minute of being in the classroom with my students. Currently I am talking graduate classes for my Special Education Certification.
