I am the 5th grade math teacher at Von Steuben Middle School.
This is my 9th year teaching in Peoria Public Schools.

I am thrilled to be here and to be serving your family! This website will serve as a useful  tool for you throughout the school year. On this website you will find classroom and school wide expectations and procedures. You will also be able to see past activities and units of study as well as the ability to look ahead into what we will be studying in the future. Lastly, you will find some useful links to help and guide your learning from home. Go VIKINGS!!!

    Remote Learning:

    • Welcome to May 2020

Here are your assignments for this Week:

Log into Microsoft Teams (see the link and directions on how to log in at the "Remote Learning" tab on the left hand side.)

    • Each morning at 8:15 am you will have a morning meeting with your homeroom class. This gives you a chance to "see" your teacher and your friends! This invitation for this meeting will be send through Microsoft Teams.
    • For Math, there is a short video clip and assignment posted for each day in Microsoft Teams, log in to get the assignments or look at your dojo account!
    • My expectation is that you will complete through Lessons 12 in Zearn by Friday, May 8th. See the link to Zearn on the right hand side under "Remote Learning" tab.

***** Starting May 11th, we will be working on a 5th grade project that will include Math, Science, Social Studies, and ELA. See Mrs. Donahue for information about engineering your house or playground. For Math you will need to find the perimeter AND area of your playground or house. You will also need to label certain attributes such as a set of parallel lines, perpendicular lines, quadrilaterals, parallelograms, squares, and rectangles. Please see Microsoft Teams for more information on the math component of this project! On Monday, May 18th, we will all share our projects with each other in our class meeting!

As usual, please feel free to text, call, message, dojo, teams message, or get a hold of me in any way you would like. I would be happy to set up a teams meeting with you or help you in any way that I can! I miss you guys and can't wait to get back to school with you! Stay Healthy!
