Parents! Check Out Renaissance Home Connect

Renaissance Home Connect improves the school-to-home connection by allowing parents and students to log in to a website and view the student’s reading practice and progress towards goals. Access to online results promotes discussion between parents and students, which motivates students and can make reading practice even more effective. In addition, parents can specify up to six email addresses to receive automatic updates in English or Spanish on their student’s math and reading progress. The Home Connect login for students and parents is the same as their login to AR while at school. Students are only able to take quizzes while at a district school, but from home, the public library, etc., the student or the parent can log in to Home Connect to check progress.

If you'd like to receive emails showing your student's quiz or test results, click the Email Setup link in Renaissance Home Connect and follow the directions. To be sure these emails reach your inbox, add homeconnectautodelivery@renlearnrp.com to your address book.

Accelerated Reader is one part of the Renaissance Learning program, a web based information system that every student in every school and every classroom can access at any time-all at the click of a mouse!

All Washington students are encouraged to read and take online quizzes on books that are supported by the Accelerated Reader program.

Teachers have different ways of rewarding students, with extra points, popsicles, and chip and cookie days.

If you would like to learn more about the benefits of AR and the current research, please log on to http://research.renlearn.com .
In addition to teachers rewarding AR success in their own classroom we have a highly successful schoolwide program at Washington. Ms. Brown has educated staff members to ensure that they are trained and comfortable with the program. Top AR Point students are up on the Library Board weekly and in the Newsletter monthly.   After launching our Accelerated Reader program in October 2013 we saw students get triple digit AR points in just one month!!  Students can be caught missing recess to read!
