Mrs. Yates

My name is Mrs. Yates and I am in my fourth year as Librarian here at Sterling Middle School Library Resource Center. I have been with District 150 for fifteen years. I am excited to see all the changes happening at our school and in our library. This year we will be concentrating on the Full Service Electronic Library Program, and adding new book clubs among other exciting activities. I Have fully launched EPIC! For Kids school wide, which add's eighty + thousand digital books to our library collection. Please be sure to contact me via email or teams. I am here to serve your every need.


My previous Library and research experience:

-3 years as the Library Manager at Harrison Community Learning Center

-4 years as Co-Teacher at Trewyn Day Treatment

-5 years as the Library Manager at Washington Gifted School

-6 years as a Marketing Associate with Mediacom Communications Corporation.

-6 years as a Business Research Associate at Caterpillar Inc.

-6 years as a Technical Information Associate at Caterpillar Inc.

-2 years at the Peoria Public Library (Reference & Business Departments)


My background:

I live in Central Illinois with my husband. My educational backround is in Library Science and Law Enforcement. I have a blended family which includes five grown children, four daughters and one son. I love to travel and I enjoy meeting new people. I love to read! I especially enjoy biographies and love stories. I also enjoy spending time researching new technology tools that can be used in and out of the classroom. I have three beautiful grandchildren that keep me busy in my spare time.
