My name is Mrs. Carol Foulk. I graduated from Western Illinois University in 1985 with a degree in Elementary Education. I then taught second grade in Rockford, Illinois for 4 years before getting married in 1990 and moving to Peoria where I taught fourth grade for 1 year. I took a 5 year hiatus to stay at home with my young children while pursuing additional certification in Early Childhood Educaton at Illinois State University. When both of my children were in preschool, I taught at Redeemer Lutheran Preschool for 5 years until my youngest entered Kindergarten. At that time I was ready to go back to work full time. My first year in District 150 was in 2001 at Glen Oak School as a Reading Tutorial Specialist. I was there as part of the Reading Excellence Act Grant, which lasted 2 years. I was placed at Franklin-Edison for 1 year as a Language Arts teacher. In 2004 I came to Kellar as a second grade teacher and received my Master's Degree from St. Xavier University in 2007.
I have been married for 28 years with a daughter, Julie, who is a nurse at OSF St. Francies. She also got married in 2017. I have a son, Ryan, who just graduated from Northern Illinois University and is pursuing a career in screenwriting. He is also very active in musicals, the latest - Newsies.
