Franklin Primary School students heard first-hand stories about being on the crew of a NASA space shuttle, when Dr. Linda Godwin, a veteran of four shuttle missions, visited the school in March. Godwin, a physics professor at University of Missouri - Columbia, told the students about living without gravity, illustrating her presentation with photos and videos of the inside of the space shuttle and the international space station, including the small enclosures where the astronauts sleep.
First grade students at Franklin had a terrific learning experience on Tuesday, January 30th at the Peoria Riverfront Museum! The opportunity was paid for by the Barton Family Foundation, which is allowing every K-8 grade student at Peoria Public Schools to visit the museum throughout the school year.
Franklin's 4th grade leadership/broadcast team was invited on a “behind the scenes” tour of the production side to WTVP. Julie Sanders, Mary Heinemann, and studio manager Tracy Simmons piqued the 4th graders curiosity and inspired our leaders to create their very own commercial about Franklin!
Friday, January 26th marked the 100th day of school Franklin Kindergarten students celebrated in the gym. “100 days I’ve been in school. My teacher says that’s really cool. We’ll have some fun. We’ll let out a cheer. Our 100th day is finally here!” #100DaysOfSchool #KindergartenFun
A schoolwide professional development for Franklin Primary School teachers focused on TIQAA writing structure led by fourth grade. Kindergarten through third grade teachers learned what components can be implemented and how to best integrate these components into schedules and existing curriculum.
