Please be aware that because of possible inclement weather or school shutdowns, our school district will implement Learning Anywhere, Anytime/Remote Learning. This is allowable in accordance with the ISBE waiver for flexible days. The Illinois State Board of Education has released recommentations for learning times based on age. Students in first grade should spend a minium of 45 minutes per day and a maximum of 90 minutes per day learning. This time also includes screen-free learning opportunities to enrich the mind, body, spirit, environment, and make connections with family.
Learning Anywhere, Anytime: Parents can access the Learning at Home forms below. These forms do include activities to do when there is snow on the ground. Hard copies of the Learning at Home forms will be sent home in October of each school year. Please, please put them somewhere safe. Students may also complete activities that are posted for Art, PE, and Technology. Please see Mrs. Needham, Mr. Bootz, and Mrs. Olson's webpages for that information.
Remote Learning opportunities: The Scholastic Learn at Home link has day-by-day projects to keep your children reading, thinking, and growing. It is a free site and grade level specific. The Zearn link contains hands on instruction of our current math program. The IXL link has both math and language arts skills specific to each grade level. Your children have been using this program in the classroom and are familiar with it. Login information can be found in your child's homeowork folder or in emails from the teacher. I will be available by email only between the hours of 8:15am to 3:00pm. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
