• Microsoft is now offering Microsoft Office suite free at home for any teacher/staff person at our district who has an Office 365 for Education email account, at no additional cost to the district.

Please click the link above to start the verification and installation process. Enter your district psd150.org email address in the textbox on that page to verify access. Once approved, follow the steps to get to the “Install Office on your PC” option, and click “Install now” on your home computer; if you don't get get those instructions, you can still download Office to your home device from your web email account.

Log into web email (https://outlook.com/psd150.org) using your district email address, then click the “gear” icon in the top-right o365-2 , then “Office 365 Settings”, then click the “Software / Install and manage software” section.

How long can I use this plan for?

If you are eligible, you can use the plan as long as you work at the qualified school. Eligibility may be re-verified at any time. At expiration, the Office applications enter a reduced-functionality mode, which means documents can be viewed but it isn’t possible to edit or create new documents. In addition, online services associated with the school email address, for example Office Online and OneDrive, will no longer work.

Who manages the OneDrive account provided with this offer?

This account is associated with the school and should be used for school-appropriate content. Permissions and access can be changed by the school’s IT administrator at any time.

So if you leave the district, you are no longer eligible, and when your email address is removed from our system, your Office programs will change to view-only option, unless you then purchase an Office365 subscription on your own. You will be prompted for a default location when you activate the software; you will want to choose your computer instead of OneDrive for saving personal documents (if you save personal documents to the district OneDrive account under your email address, those documents are accessible by the district and subject to FOIA/legal searches, plus you will lose access to those files if you leave the district).
Along with this, you can now also use your district email address and password to activate all features of Word, Excel and PowerPoint for the iPad, available via the App Store. The same notes apply to the iPad – you will want to save personal documents on your iPad directly instead of in OneDrive, and if your email address is deactivated, these programs will revert back to view-only mode unless you purchase an Office365 home subscription.
