  • Charter Oak PTC's Erynn Dykstra named 2019 Community Volunteer

    Erynn Dykstra, a Parent Teacher Club (PTC) volunteer at Charter Oak Primary School and Mark Bills Middle School, is the Those Who Excel winner in the Community Volunteer category, one of seven Those Who Excel winners announced by Superintendent Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat at an all-staff video presentation Monday morning.

  • Professional hip-hop dancer Anthony Turner opens Destination Celebration

    The annual Destination Celebration, a PBIS assembly celebrating the Charter Oak community's diversity featured an amazing performance by Charter Oak alum Anthony Turner, a professional hip hop dancer. Destination Celebration allows students to travel to foreign lands using their passports and imaginations.

  • Coins for Kids raises $1,440 for Easter Seals

    Charter Oak Primary School raised $1,440 for Easter Seals in a four-day campaign coordinated by the 4th grade class presidents. Students spent a week focused disability awareness activities and had a great response from the Charter Oak community.

  • Charter Oak Corner Kids featured in magazine

    Third grade teacher Renee Gregory's Corner Kids program pairs her students with pen pals at Rock Steady Boxing, a Peoria program for people with Parkinson's disease. The program was recently featured in the Rock Steady Boxing national magazine.
