Peoria Public Schools is proposing the following starting/dismissal times as a way to align school starting times with research that indicates older students fare better with later start times -- and also to balance the transportation budget without minimizing services to students and families.
Thomas Jefferson School held its annual “Coins for Kids” campaign. Students, teachers, and staff contributed coins throughout the month of February to benefit programs at Easter Seals. The grand total collected was $888.88! Students attended an assembly on Wednesday, March 1, where the grand total was revealed. Mrs. Nelson's Second Grade Class was the top fund raiser with a total of $140.00. Since 2008 students and staff at Thomas Jefferson School have donated a total of $15,475.22!
S.T.E.A.M. Night a Success! S.T.E.A.M. Night was held on Tuesday, February 28, at Thomas Jefferson Primary School. Staff, students, and families enjoyed viewing and participating in a variety of scientific activities and experiments. Each grade level presented a group scientific investigation incorporating technology, engineering, art and math. Individual students also created science projects.
