     21 Days of Kindness

April 4th when we come back from Spring Break, 21 Days of Kindness will begin at Von Stueben.

What is 21 Days of Kindness you may ask?

It is 21 school days during which Dr. Janovetz will be reading Acts of Kindness that have been posted to Twitter by: Parents, Students, Teachers, Administration, Staff, and Community members. You will post it with #VSKINDNESS for all of us to see and read.  You can add a picture of kindness as well if you wish. I will probably add links to articles and information about kindness if you want to participate. We would love for EVERYONE to be involved during the month of APRIL 2016.

    The Great Kindness Challenge Assembly

The Challenge was from January 25-30, 2016.

We had an all-student Assembly on Monday, at which 13 Administrators from Central Office came over to give students high-fives as you can see in the picture.  Also Mr. Booth, head basketball coach at Manual Academy and six of his Varsity players came to do an activity with some of the students.

    Great Kindness Challenge

The Great Kindness Challenge is a proactive and positive bullying prevention initiative that improves school climate and increases student engagement. All kids deserve to learn in a safe, supportive and dynamic environment. The Great Kindness Challenge provides a powerful tool that actively engages students, teachers, administration, families and community in creating a school culture of acceptance, tolerance, unity and respect. Simply put, we believe that KINDNESS is strength and has the power to change the world for GOOD! During January, students and staff are encouraged to complete at least 50 acts of kindness - whether towards classmates, teachers, family members, or one's self - and let others know about it so that we can all celebrate being kind to one another
