Welcome to our Library and Computer Lab!
"There are many little ways to enlarge your child's world. Love of books is the best of all."
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
Our library and computer lab is a busy place at Hines School! All classes visit the library to choose books, work on Compass Math, Type to Learn or class projects. In addition to class library time, open library is three times a week for students to exchange books independent of their class library time.
We have an exciting selection of books to choose from and receive new selections four or five times a year from our district library department. We also host two Scholastic Book Fairs every school year which brings new inventory as well. This year, our fall Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the gym March 23 through the 27th. Watch for book fair information to come home with your child.
I enjoy helping students find books they are excited to read. Grades 2, 3, and 4 choose two books each visit with one book in their Accelerated Reader range. Be sure to ask your child to share their library books with you. Reading to your child or listening to your child read to you is an important part of your child's education.
"I find television very educating. Every time someone turns it on, I leave the room and read a book!"
